The New Ambassador Ying Yue Pays His First Visit to Teacher Zhao Bin for "The Appointment with UFDC"

On April 1st, 2026, Ying Yue, the newly appointed DSi World Down Syndrome Ambassador officially assumed office. His first visit after taking up the post was to meet up with Teacher Zhao Bin, a volunteer who has been quietly supporting young people with Down syndrome for many years.

There is a touching five-year commitment between Teacher Zhao and the "Appointment with UFDC" initiative: to hold a traditional Chinese coming-of-age ceremony for young people with Down syndrome every five years. To date, the ceremony has been successfully held twice. Each time, the event is solemn and sacred it not only marks a new chapter in these young peoples lives but also plants a seed in their hearts for a profound connection with Chinese culture and civilization.

Over the years, Teacher Zhao Bin has transformed from a cheerful bachelor into a devoted father. This role shift has made him more mature and poised, gentle as jade. His inherent kindness and unwavering resolve have touched everyone around him.

During his visit, Ying Yue presented a peace talisman and an evil-warding talisman, both drawn on the spot as a special gift. He also performed an impromptu set of drunken boxing, paying tribute to Teacher Zhao in his own unique way. Deeply moved, Teacher Zhao made a generous commitment on the spot: at the next coming-of-age ceremony in 2028, he will continue to support UFDC as always.

Great blessings to the young people with Down syndrome!

Teacher Zhao also gladly accepted UFDCs invitation to become its sixth charity partner. He said, "What we are doing is promoting our traditional culture and making an impact where economic power falls short." This aligns perfectly with our "small but beautiful" charity philosophy. We witness and grow alongside each other this is the feeling of happiness.

A warm journey of responsibility, cultural companionship, and mutual growth goes on.
